Success at Spa Classic! 17-19th May
Olly Bryant and Kyle Tilley continued their 2.0L Cup success with another podium visit at Spa Francorchamps. Torrential conditions engulfed the Ardennes with qualifying being cancelled due to extreme conditions. The race start order was determined off the practice results which saw Kyle line up P2 on the grid and first of the championship contenders. Kyle enjoyed some ferocious battles in the early laps as the circuit had finally dried. Running inside the top 6, he pitted after 1/2 distance to hand over to Olly. Olly pushed hard to overcome the pairs “double elite 40 second pipe stop penalty”- climbing the order to bring the car home 3rd on the road and first in class after 90 minutes of racing. The number 60 Era Motorsport machine was the highest place points scorer and is now joint at the top of the championship table. The next round is at Dijon on 8th June where the duo hope to reach the podium once again!
Olly also shared the Historika run Porsche 904/6 with 2018 & 2022 2.0L Cup champion team mate Andrew Smith. Again qualifying was cancelled due to inclement weather, so the car lined up 6th overall on the Sixties Endurance grid. Andrew ran well for over an hour keeping the car in the top 10. Olly climbed aboard with 50 minutes to go and lapped quickly and consistently despite a brief safety car intervention to bring the car home 6th overall, 1st in the under 2.5L class and 2nd in the under 4.0L class. Another giant killing performance from the little 904.
