Olly enjoys solid qualifying at the Total 24 Hours of Spa 2011

Legendary Scottish racing team Ecurie Ecosse has made its sportscar return at iconic Belgian circuit Spa‐Francorchamps, enjoying an encouraging qualifying session for tomorrow’s Total 24 Hours of Spa.
Contesting the event in conjunction with Aston Martin Racing Partner Team Barwell Motorsport, drivers Alasdair McCaig, Andrew Smith, Joe Twyman and Oliver Bryant quickly acclimatised the updated GT3‐spec DBRS9, which bares the iconic Saltire livery first made famous by Ecurie Ecosse’s Le Mans 24 Hours triumphs of 1956 and 1957.

SPA 6 HOUR MEETING 25-26-27 September 2009

After two years of finishing in 4th place, the famous AC Cobra “GPG 4C” came home in 3rd place closely behind the rapid AC Cobra of David Hart, Rob Hall andJeroen Bleekemolen and the winning GT40 of Shaun Lynn and Andrew Haddon.

Promise and problems at Spa 8-10th May 2009

Olly Bryant was joined by Andrew Smith in the Ginetta G50- Zytek for the British GT Championship races at Spa-Francorchamps. It was to be the car’s second ever race after a one-off Britcar race at Silverstone in the hands of Laurence Tomlinson and Richard Dean.

Another Successful Spa for Olly Bryant!

BRDC “Rising Star” Olly Bryant returned from the annual Spa 6 Hour meeting with another Victory in the 2 hour GT race, sharing with his father Grahame in the famous AC Cobra, GPG 4C. The pair grabbed the win for the fifth year in a row, and they celebrated the win after a great weekend of racing for Olly and the car. Olly engaged in a battle with the similar cobra of Steve Hitchins for most of the race until Olly forced Steve into an error with 20 minutes to go, Steve spun the car at La Source allowing Olly to get through and pull away to take the win.

SPA 6 HOURS 5th and 6th of October 2007

In the headline 6-hour race the 21-year-old GT star drove an AC Cobra alongside father Grahame and Howard Spooner in addition to a lightweight Jaguar E Type with car owner Jon Minshaw and Gerry Wainwright. Oliver qualified the Jag in 5th place in the 80-car grid and an exceptional lap at the end of the session lined the Cobra up in 3rd place behind the front row of Ford GT40s.

Uniroyal Funcup 25 Hours of Spa 14/15 July 2007

Oliver Bryant was invited to drive for Team Tiger in the annual 25 hour VW Beetle Funcup race on the Belgian Formula One circuit.

Rounds 5 & 6 – Spa

Maxime qualified the car in P14 for race 1 with a 2m31.0s lap. Oliver qualified in the faster, 2nd qualifying session but was blocked by a viper on the ultra-fast run into Blanchimont. This ruined the lap and he had to settle for a 1m31.8s lap. This placed the car in P28 for the start of race 2.

SPA 6 HOUR MEETING

Oliver had another very successful weekend at the annual 6 hrs of Spa-Francorchamps meeting in Belgium. He led the 6 hrs race in the AC Cobra that he started from 12th on the grid. “I had to start off slowly to preserve the tyres because they get very hot with the hevy fuel loads. About 45 minutes into my stint I could start to push and I worked my way up to the lead”, commented the 20-year-old GT star. His work did not pay off as the car was retired with a fuelling problem later in the race.
