Olly in World Sportscar Master in Portimao

Friday 15th October 2010

Olly Bryant made his mark on his second visit to the Portimao circuit in Portugal. Pole position in the Lola T70 MK3b in the World Sportscar Masters series was followed up with 2 dominant wins and 2 fastest laps. Olly also drove the AC Cobra with his father Grahame in the Masters Pre-66 GT race recording 4th on the grid and 5th in the race after a difficult race with a drive-through penalty. In the U2TC touring car race, Olly had a fantastic 35-minute battle with the Alfa Romeo driven by Andy Newall to beat him to 9th position and 4th in class. In the Sir Stirling Moss Trophy race, Olly drove the Lotus XV with Grahame. After running strongly in 3rd at the beginning of the race, Grahame handed over to Olly but a lengthy fuel stop cost them several laps and dropped them down the field. With no 3rd gear, Olly drove flat out to set very quick lap times as night fell in the Algarve. Olly moved up to 9th overall and 2nd in class after 2 hours of racing.
