Qualifying
This was the first time the drivers had used the amended version of the Silverstone GP Circuit but Olly had gained some usefull track knowledge when he tested for Trackspeed at the British GT Media day in there new Porache 997 GT3R earlier in the year. This proved useful as he firmly planted the Morgan on pole position with a 2m.05.995s lap.
Race
Grahame Bryant made the race start and dropped in behind the Ram Cobra of Phil James who managed to pull a 5 second gap in the first 4 laps. Grahame soon got up to speed and brought the gap back down to just over 3 seconds before pitting to hand over to Olly on lap 10. Once on track Olly reeled off quick and consistent laps and inherited the lead as the James Cobra, now in the hands of Lim, had a spin. Olly was not challenged from then on and got his head down to pull out a 42 second advantage at the flag after 23 laps and 51 minutes of racing. In the process he recorded the fastest lap of the race with a 2m.06.189s lap. It was a good debut for the car as it had suffered from some reliability issues last season.
The next HGTCC race is at Thruxton on the 8th of May.
