POLE POSITION, WIN AND FASTEST LAP IN THE SOUTH OF FRANCE
Oliver competed in the 1 hour GT and Sports Car race at street circuit of Pau in the Pyrenees region of southern France.
Driving a 1964 AC Cobra with his father Grahame, he claimed pole position by 0.5s on a very wet circuit from Simon Hadfield. Grahame started the race which was unfortunately plagued with safety car periods but was fortunate in being the only dry race of the weekend. The car was handed to Oliver after 25 minutes and he immediately dominated the remainder of the race pulling out 45s on the second place AC Daytona Cobra of Ludovic Caron. Oliver also recorded the fastest lap of the race, 1m33.5s, a full 4seconds faster than the second place French ex-formula 3 driver in an equally potent machine. Oliver has been on the podium on every visit he has made to the difficult French street circuit with a tally of 5 podiums. (2wins, 2 thirds and a second) Thanks to Spirit Automotive for preparing the car. |
