Paul Ricard 2-3 September
Olly Bryant’s strong start was left unrewarded at Paul Ricard. Sharing Historika’s wonderful Porsche 904/6 with Andrew Smith. The pair lined up a strong P9 overall and first in class for the 2 hours Sixties Endurance race. Unfortunately, in the early laps , Andrew developed an issue with the gear linkage and had to retire.
Olly was also sharing the Era Motorsport run Porsche 911 of Kyle Tilley in the 2.0L cup race. This again proved to be a tricky weekend, with a freak gearbox issue curtailing the free practice session. Olly recorded 1 timed lap in qualifying which was the fastest lap 2.0L lap of the weekend. Combined with car owner Kyle’s laptime, the red Historika built machine lined up 2nd on the grid for the 90 minute encounter. Kyle had a fantastic start getting into the lead in the opening few corners before settling down in the lead trio. Unfortunately the fan belt failed, causing the engine to get hot and sadly the car had to be retired. This was a bitter blow for Era and Olly was confident the duo could have challenged for the race win.
