Olly wins Corvette Anniversary Race at Brands Hatch American Speedfest 10 – 18th June 2023
Olly Bryant headed to Brands Hatch for the well supported sell out event at the Kent venue. Olly was driving the 1967 Camaro Z28 which he’s previously enjoyed considerable success in the USA. Including Classic Daytona 24 Hour wins in 2018 and 2019. This was the European debut for the car, but unfortunately a block fuel flow issue in qualifying caused the 1967 Camaro to falter and the fuel supply issue continued into the first race where Olly was forced to retire the car. Great work by the team overnight saw the fuel tank removed and the tank foam replaced. This solved the problem and Olly lined up at the back of the grid for race 2. An early race red flag due to an on track incident somewhat delayed his charge through the field. Nonetheless, after a daring run into paddock alongside Simeon Chodosh in an early Corvette , Olly took the lead with two laps to go and set fastest lap on the final tour. Olly hopes to support the series again in August at Oulton Park before heading to the Silverstone Festival with the car to support MRL HTCC.
