Olly Bryant finishes P2 in class for DUWO Racing at the Silverstone 24 hours.
Olly Bryant joined the Luxembourg based DUWO Racing Team in their BMW M235i for the SIlverstone 24 hours on the 9-11th March. Sharing the car with Philip Harris, Will Plant, Grahame Bryant and Adam Dawson, the team ended up 2nd in class and 7th overall after a challenging 24 hours, battling with adverse weather conditions at the freezing Silverstone Grand Prix circuit. Traffic hampered Olly’s best lap in qualifying and the car lined up P2 on the grid. An adventurous race with a couple of grassy moments for Olly’s team mates, and a non-scheduled wheel bearing change ultimately cost them a shot at the class win. A lengthy race stoppage during the night due to heavy fog robbed the team of the chance to make up lost time and ultimately they ran out of time to catch back up. Needless to say, Olly set the fastest lap BMW M235i lap in the final hours to prove the team had the car to challenge for the win.
Future outings with DUWO Racing could be a possibility in some of the latter rounds of the championship in warmer climates!
Thanks go to sponsors Henley Finance and CCH for making this race possible.
