2018 2.0L Cup champions Olly & Andrew again triumphed in 2022 after an ultra competitive season battling rivals Seb Perez, George Gamble, Andrew Jordan and Mark Sumpter.
The third win of the season at Estoril topped off an impressive season comprising 3 wins, 1 x second place and 1 x 4th place finish. Olly set the quickest lap in practice and qualifying and the duo lined up 2nd on the grid on combined driver times at the start of the 90 minute race. Andrew was engaged in an enthralling battle in the early laps with 2019 champion Sumpter before his engine faltered. From then on, Andrew recorded a solid opening stint keeping Christian Coll and Matt Holme at bay. Olly replaced Andrew just after half distance and set about overcoming the “gent” 40s pitstop advantage. With just under 15 minutes remaining, Olly caught and past 2022 “Gent” champion Matt Holme and then relaxed to bring the car home to the delight of the Historika crew. Olly, Andrew and Historika are the first double champions in the series history.
