Bryant shows excellent form in Mosler
For the final round of the 2007 British GT Championship, Oliver partnered Stuart Hall in a Mosler MT900R GT3 car. The car was fantastic in the wet and Oliver was 2nd quickest in the damp practice on Friday. Oliver setting a time 2 tenths quicker than Stuart’s. On Saturday morning in another damp practice, the pairing were quickest, Oliver did 2 laps and posted a time a tenth quicker than Allan Simonsen in the Ferrari which put the car in first position. Stuart then finished off the session and went quicker as the track dried and remained fastest.
Qualifying was the first time Oliver had driven the car in the dry and the gambled setup was good enough for 4th on the grid for Saturdays race.
5 laps into the race Oliver got punted off from 4th place by the team Berlanga Ascari at the final chicane, sending him backwards through the tyres and into the gravel! Oliver rejoined but 3 laps down. Stuart finished off the race but on the final lap the hub failed through the fast banked corner causing heavy contact with the barriers! 3 corners were heavily damaged and the car couldn’t be repaired for Sundays race… Fortunately Stuart was ok.
What a disaster after such a strong start to the meeting as they were the best matched pairing on the grid and the car had the pace for podiums in both races!
