Rounds 7 & 8 Dijon

Sunday 3rd September 2006
RACE 1

Oliver made a good start and worked his way up to 10th, 2nd in the Porsche class, he was catching the no.8 Porsche of James Murphy and handed over to Maxime just over half way through the race. Max was lapping well until a left rear puncture forced another pitstop which pushed them back to a disappointing 21st position where they finished.
RACE 2

This race involved another problem with the car but an excellent drive from Oliver. Max started the car and 15 minutes into the race, the power steering failed and Max nearly lost control of the car. The young Maxime was struggling to drive around the steering problem and his lap times suffered. The team decided to call him in and Oliver resumed with the same problem. After one lap to feel his way around the problem, Oliver was straight on the front running pace and catching the no.8 Porsche of James Murphy as in race 1. The 2 team mates, charged through the traffic to finish 2nd and 3rd in the Porsche class. Oliver had got the no.7 car from 26th place to 12th overall without power steering.

This was a good showing by Oliver and he is looking forward to the final round at Mugello in Italy on the 17 of Sept.
