Rounds 3 & 4 Oschersleben

Sunday 2nd July 2006
The Porsche's struggled for pace in Germany with none inside the top ten in either of the qualifying sessions.
QUALIFYING

Oliver Bryant and Maxime Dumarey lined up 18th and 38th in the 2 qualifying sessions. Oliver struggled to get in a clear lap and was hampered by having only completed a few laps in qualifying after a Dodge Viper pushed him into the gravel during the practice session ending his session.
RACE 1

Oliver started the first race in P18 and dropped ground over the initial laps as people barged passed. Determined to hand the car over to his team-mate in good condition, Oliver kept the car out of the gravel as cars where going off everywhere. The chaos eventually brought out a safety car and Oliver pitted immediately as the team instructed. Maxime rejoined in P6, much further up the grid than the car should have been. After the safety car departed and the field resumed at race speed, the rapid Vipers, Corvettes and Lamborghini's swamped the no.7 Porsche and they gradually slipped by. Unfortunately, one of the Lamborghini's knocked Maxime into a spin and he dropped to P16 for the finish.

Dissappointed with the Porsche's relative pace with the other marques, Oliver and Max had no choice but to aim for as good a top 20 finish as possible and to be the first Porsche home in race 2. Oliver was eager to get some good racing in after a busy few laps in a train of cars at the start of race 1.
RACE 2

Maxime started the car and was soon hassling one of the French Porsche's ahead. On lap 6 the 2 cars came together and they both went into a spin. This split the radiator on the car and they were out of the race. Oliver was very disappointed as he did not have a chance to shine at the German circuit. Lack of track time and opposition that was not pegged to the same level of the Porsche meant that a strong result was impossible.

The Team Principal, Phil Hindley is in discussions with the FIA in order to see that the faster cars' performance is equalised ahead of the next race at Spa at the end of July.
