Pall Mall Cup Success At Silverstone - 31st October 2021

Sunday 31st October 2021

For the final race of the season, Olly was asked to share the Paul Pochciol Daytona Cobra Coupe with George Pochciol and Matt Wrigley. Olly set a time good enough for 3rd on the 43 car grid in the damp qualifying session. George started, Matt went second and Olly finished and they came home an excellent 1st in class and 2nd overall as darkness fell over Silverstone. Olly was also lucky to be asked to share the Andrew Smith and James Cottingham owned Scuderia Bear GT40 in the Amon Cup race. Olly shared with James who started P2 before handing over to Olly around the half distance mark. Shortly after taking over, Olly noticed the oil pressure light flickering as the car was suffering oil surge in the corners, not willing to risk the engine, Olly pitted so the mechanics could top up the oil. This saved the engine, but cost them time, nonetheless, Olly pushed on and almost caught the 2nd place GT40 of Cook/ Cuff at the flag, to finish a decent 3rd overall at the flag. The Tony Dron Trophy race had a wet qualifying and damp race and Olly shared the Think Auto Camaro with father Grahame. Grahame started before handing to Olly as the pit window opened. Olly set fastest lap in class and came home 2nd overall in the Tony Dron Trophy and first in class.
