Olly wins BRDC Secretary's Challenge

A cold but sunny Silverstone played host to the annual Walter Hays Trophy meeting. Olly was driving the Lola T70 Mk3b which he had steered to great success in this years World Sportscar Masters Series. The icy-cold temperatures made it very difficult to get any heat into the treaded Dunlop tyres but Olly drove the car to two 4th place finishes behind slick-shod cars to win the BRDC Secretary's Challenge as the highest placed BRDC member in the two races. Olly last won this trophy in 2007 driving a Jade Sportscar.

BRITISH GT ROUND 12 – SILVERSTONE

Barwell Motorsport featured strongly in the battle for honours during the latest round of the British GT Championship at Silverstone last weekend. Both the Aston Martin DBRS9 of Andrew Howard/Jamie Smyth and the Ginetta G50Z of Olly Bryant/Piers Johnson challenged for podium finishes on their way to eventual 5th and 6th places respectively, and Olly claimed the overall fastest lap of the race during his stint....more

The tyres did not deliver the grip that was expected from them and both Keith and Oliver were disappointed with the cars pace. The tyres were running too cool and not generating any bite on the track surface. Oliver set a time of 1m29.7s which the lined the car up 6th in class on the grid. The race was to be a 2hr race so the team knew that it was reliability and consistency and not outright pace that would win the race....more

BRITISH GT MEDIA DAY SILVERSTONE

Oliver Bryant tested the Aero 8 Morgan at the Launch of the 2006 British GT championship media day. The aim was to get in some valuable dry weather testing to develop the new Avon Slick tyre. The test was successful with the car completing 48 laps without fault and Oliver posted a time of 1m27.5s. This was the second fastest GTC car running on Avon Slicks. Team Aero’s testing continues next Tuesday at Snetterton in preparation for the opening rounds of the Championship at Oulton Park on the 15th/16th/17th of April. ...more
