Heartache at Monza for Bryant and Smith - 20th September 2020
- Category
- 2020 Season
Olly Bryant and Andrew Smith returned to Monza in search of a decent result in the reduced 2020 2.0 Litre Cup Championship after the disappointment last time out at Paul Ricard where luck with the safety car robbed them of a strong result. The weekend started well with Olly recording a respectable 2.21.496s lap which looked promising for pole position. In the closing moments, Pascal Pandelaar secured pole position just 4 hundredths of a second faster with a 2.21.455s lap. Unfortunately , that was as good as the weekend got for Olly and Andrew. A very rare timing chain failure the race put end to their run just before Smith took the wheel in the second half. The whole team will re-group and come back stronger for 2021.
