Rounds 9&10 Mugello

QUALIFYING
Oliver Bryant qualified the car for the first race on a damp track on wet tyres. He had been on 2 flying laps and had red flags render those laps useless. On his 3rd flying lap however, only a yellow flag zone and a slow moving car meant that he had to lift in the final sector making a top 10 time impossible. Instead, the car lined up 14th overall and 2nd in the Porsche cup.

Maxime qualified for the second race on slicks on a drying track and put the car in P9 overall and 3rd in the Porsche cup.

RACE 1
Torrential rain flooded the Mugello circuit for the race 1 and remained throughout the hour. Oliver made good progress in the early laps within the top 10 until the rain worsened and the car began to aquaplane! A Maserati tapped the back corner of Oliver’s Porsche and this sent him through the gravel. This cost Oliver time and confidence and 15 minutes later it was time to hand over to team mate Maxime Dumarey.

The Belgian youngster struggled to get to grips with the car in the difficult conditions and he was lapping several seconds off the pace. Nevertheless he brought the car home 21st overall and 5th in the Porsche cup.

RACE 2
Maxime started the race on the wet track and ran just outside the top ten throughout his stint setting some great times. After half an hour, the rain had been getting heavier and the track slower, and it was time to bring the number 7 machine in and hand over to Oliver Bryant.

Oliver resumed in 15th place and set about his climb up the order. After a great battle with a Porsche, a Corvette and a Ferrari 430 amongst others, Oliver brought the car home in P8 after passing the Corvette on the final lap!

This was a great result for the team as all three of their cars finished in the points. The number 9 car of Sean Edwards and Phil Keen won the championship and the team won the teams Championship. Congratulations to all the drivers and the team at Tech 9 Motorsport.
