Ecurie Ecosse Savours Strategic Silverstone 500 Win

A perfect weekend for Ecurie Ecosse saw the famous Scottish squad score its first British GT Championship victory and pole position of the season at Silverstone, helping drivers Olly Bryant and Marco Attard vault to the top of the points standings in the process.

Bryant served notice of the team’s intentions during Saturday’s qualifying session by planting the Barwell Motorsport-run BMW Z4 GT3 firmly on pole position thanks to a stunning lap of 2m02.6s around the Silverstone Arena GP circuit, the first for both himself and Ecurie Ecosse.

Stunning Silverstone Performance Relights Ecurie Ecosse’s Title Hunt

Ecurie Ecosse netted a well-deserved second place finish in this weekend’s three-hour British GT race at Silverstone thanks to strong performances from Alasdair McCaig and team newcomer Ollie Hancock. The former Lotus Motorsport factory driver deputised for Olly Bryant at the British Grand Prix venue as the Ecosse regular continues to recover from an injury suffered in July.

Olly Bryant in 3rd World Sportscar win in as many starts at the Silverstone Classic

Qualifying was a wash out with the session being red flagged as heavy rain flooded the track and stopped play. Andrew Smith’s single lap time at that point was good enough for pole. The session was then restarted behind the safety car for the first drivers to complete their 3 mandatory qualifying laps. Olly the took to the wheel for what turned out to be the remaining 5 minutes of the session and recorded a lap time just good enough for pole position, some 0.3s quicker than the next car.

Impressive Double Stints by Olly Bryant Help Team Tiger to Win Spa 24 Hours

We arrived at Spa on Wednesday giving ourselves plenty of time for preparation in order for Fridays 3 hour qualifying session. The whole team performed exceptionally with Chloe clocking a 3:08:8, Ben a 3:06:7 and Oliver Bryant a 3:06:4. This placed us at the head of the petrol class just ahead of Racelogics 3:06:8 and 27th overall on the 80 car grid.

Olly wins BRDC Secretary’s Challenge

A cold but sunny Silverstone played host to the annual Walter Hays Trophy meeting. Olly was driving the Lola T70 Mk3b which he had steered to great success in this years World Sportscar Masters Series. The icy-cold temperatures made it very difficult to get any heat into the treaded Dunlop tyres but Olly drove the car to two 4th place finishes behind slick-shod cars to win the BRDC Secretary’s Challenge as the highest placed BRDC member in the two races. Olly last won this trophy in 2007 driving a Jade Sportscar.
